About Chefs Pantry
and why you're in the right place if you're looking for confident, capable, and affordable catering in the western cape
We make great food because we love making great food
“I’ve always loved cooking. Even if I didn’t work in catering, I’d still be experimenting with different dishes for myself and my incredible wife, Alison Yeomans. Chefs Pantry lets our family turn what we love into how we live—and we can’t wait to show you the difference this makes on every plate.”
Chef Robert 'Rob' Yeomans
Our history in a nutshell
I’ve always been drawn to the kitchen. In 2004, after gaining experience in Western Cape restaurants, I landed a role as Demi Chef de Partie at the White House Hotel on Herm Island, UK. Their two-rosette restaurant introduced me to fine dining. Over the next 15 years, I honed my craft, learned the meaning of consistency, and developed my own style—lessons I now bring back to South Africa.

Back in South Africa
Back home, things moved fast. After taking a second to readjust to the climate, I worked as a consulting chef for Concept Foods in Paarl and then at Clos Malverne in Stellenbosch. The pandemic wasn't great for business, but in this tough time, Chefs Pantry was born. We started out as a chef consultancy (a service we still offer) before expanding into relief chefs and private dining. Not too long after, it was on to wedding and event catering, and now, with our newly acquired, fully kitted food truck, also mobile catering.
All of this experience and love of all things food boils down to one simple thing: catering that feels taken care of.
When you work with Chefs Pantry, you’re dealing directly with a chef who’s spent years in real kitchens, understands pressure, and knows how to adapt when plans change. That means clear communication, flexible menus, and calm, confident execution — whether you’re hosting a wedding, a work event, or friends at home.
We don’t believe in rigid packages or unnecessary upsells. Instead, we listen first, guide where needed, and build menus that suit your event, your guests, and your budget—so the food side of things feels easy, not overwhelming.
