In May, we had the honor of catering our first wedding at the beautiful 1207 Johannesdal, located in the heart of Franschhoek. This event was extra special because it marked a new chapter for Chefs Pantry as we expanded our services to this stunning venue. The wedding of Sune & Francois was nothing short of magical, and we’re thrilled to share the experience with you.

Situated amidst the rolling vineyards and mountains of Franschhoek, Johannesdal 1207 is a venue that perfectly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. As soon as we arrived, we were struck by the natural beauty of the location and knew that it would be the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable wedding.
From the open, airy spaces to the intimate ambiance, this venue was the ideal setting for Sune & Francois’ celebration. It provided a picturesque environment for guests to enjoy while we prepared a bespoke menu that would delight and impress everyone in attendance.
A Culinary Journey: From Elegant Canapés to Decadent Mains at Sune & Francois’ Wedding
Our menu showcased a trio of tantalising canapés to kick off the wedding festivities, starting with Smoked Trout Potato Latkes with Dill Crème Fraiche, followed by Charcoal Bao buns brimming with our 6-hour BBQ braised pork, complemented by an apple and fennel slaw. Wild Mushroom Arancini was served with Truffle Aioli, rounding out the trio.
For the main course, we delighted guests with our Pulled Lamb Shoulder accompanied by Creamed Potato, Carrots, Peas, and Mint Jus. For our vegetarian guests, we crafted a delectable Woodlands Mushroom & Goats Cheese Orzotto, adorned with Parmesan Crisps.
