Catering at 1207 Johannesdal, Franschhoek
In May, we had the honour of catering our first wedding at the beautiful 1207 Johannesdal, nestled in the heart of Franschhoek. This event was especially meaningful, as it marked a new chapter for Chefs Pantry, expanding our services to this stunning venue. The wedding of Sune & François was nothing short of magical, and we’re delighted to share the experience with you.
The Venue: 1207 Johannesdal, Franschhoek
Situated amongst the rolling vineyards and mountains of Franschhoek, 1207 Johannesdal is a venue that perfectly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the natural beauty of the location and knew it would provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable celebration.
From the open, airy spaces to the intimate ambiance, the venue was an ideal setting for Sune & François’ special day — a picturesque environment for guests to enjoy whilst we prepared a bespoke menu designed to delight everyone in attendance.
From Canapés to Mains — A Menu to Remember
We began the celebrations with a trio of canapés: smoked trout potato latkes with dill crème fraîche; charcoal bao buns filled with six-hour BBQ braised pork and apple and fennel slaw; and wild mushroom arancini served with truffle aioli.
For the main course, guests enjoyed pulled lamb shoulder with creamed potato, carrots, peas, and mint jus. Our vegetarian option was a woodland mushroom and goat’s cheese orzotto, finished with Parmesan crisps.
The Feedback
The best part of any event is hearing how much guests enjoyed the food, and this wedding was no exception. Sune & François and their guests were generous with their kind words — commenting on the presentation, the bold flavours, and the overall dining experience. Their appreciation is a wonderful reminder of why we love what we do.
